Position Summary
GigaOm’s global team of independent research analysts are visionaries and influential figures in the world of enterprise technologies, trends, and tools. Technical Analysts come from diverse backgrounds including senior technical executives, engineers, architects and traditional technical researchers. Analysts apply real-world experience deploying technology in the field to make sense of the market and help our end users make better decisions, and can work independently or as part of a research team with project management, writers, and other contributing analysts.
Key Areas of Focus
Organizational Area
- Inform and develop proposals for market trend research in the area of your expertise.
- Conduct defensible primary and secondary research in line with GigaOm methodology and timelines.
- Produce and communicate evaluative insights in a range of appropriate formats to meet customer and audience expectations.
- Promote GigaOm’s insights and unique position in the industry to provide a timely, informed perspective.
General Responsibilities
- Distill complex ideas into high-level concepts to foster understanding among end users and stakeholders across vendor organizations
- Advise C-suite executives, senior IT leadership, and engineering teams on technology planning, strategy, and

- Challenge vendors to provide real-world data to back their product claims to drive defensible, rigorous analysis.
- Work with engineers to help scope and deliver technical benchmarks to validate how vendor solutions compare.
- Support the broader research mission of GigaOm by engaging in peer reviews and research strategy discussions.
- Uphold GigaOm methodology and compliance with template guidance.

Work Location: Remote. The majority of GigaOm works on a US timezone, some flexible scheduling to accommodate team collaboration is required.
