Position Summary
GigaOm is seeking a full-time Sr. Analyst to join our engineering team. Our team designs and implements solutions to conduct real-world testing of software and hardware products. These tests span a wide range of technologies, including, but not limited to: cloud services, DevOps, security, databases, compute, storage, networking, and operating systems.
We are seeking a senior-level engineer with a breadth of experience across tech domains. While no specific area of depth is required, adaptability and self-enablement are. You should be comfortable quickly learning and demonstrating new technologies without much primer. You should be comfortable with joining calls with customer executives, sales, marketing, and engineering stakeholders to develop test plans that showcase the impact and value their products can bring to market.
Organizational Area
- This dual role operates within the Technology and Engineering department, collaborating extensively with cross-functional teams to drive effective cloud solutions and successful software development projects.
General Responsibilities
- Cloud Architecture:
- Develop and implement cloud architecture solutions in line with business requirements.
- Collaborate with teams to provide scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor and optimize cloud performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness and scalability.
- Engineering:
- Ensure the implementation of best practices for software development and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with product management to define project requirements and priorities.
- Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders and senior management.
Success Factors
- Enterprise experience with 3 or more compute platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle, and VMware.
- Conceptual understanding of DevOps and automated test methodologies.
- Real-world, enterprise experience with both Linux and Windows Server Operating Systems.
- Familiarity with the OSI Model, Subnets, Firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPNs, and cloud networking.
- Experience scoping large-scale technology projects, estimating engineering work, and delivering within timeline and budget constraints.
Experience Preferences
- Experience as a technology buyer and managing vendor relations.
- Public speaking and writing experience.
- Project management through JIRA.
Education Preferences
- Relevant academic background to areas of expertise
Salary Range: $150,000 -$180,000 USD annually, depending on experience
Work Location: Remote. The majority of GigaOm works on a US timezone, some flexible scheduling to accommodate team collaboration is required.
