1. Summary
AIOps addresses the volume of noisy and often redundant alerts, events, and messages flooding the enterprise and overwhelming IT operations teams. The use of AIOps removes human reaction from the traditional operations monitoring and alerting processes. It uses machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to scan thousands of alerts and events and then deduplicates, correlates, and finds patterns, whereas the human capacity to consume this data has long been exceeded.
AIOps solutions continue to be a force multiplier in IT. The pressure of digital transformation efforts, the accelerated pace of development operations (DevOps) initiatives, the need for security enhancements for security operations (SecOps), and the never-ending pressure to contain or reduce operational costs—FinOps—are all drivers of the growth of AIOps and its adoption by both vendors and enterprises. Additionally, remote work, public and private cloud initiatives, and edge computing have driven operational complexity upward.
Consider AIOps platforms when IT operations have become snarled by the complexity of the environment—FinOps, multicloud, private cloud, DevOps, SecOps, legacy infrastructure, multiple data centers, and international operations are a few of the new realities of IT operations.
AIOps solutions facilitate more consistency in IT budgets in the face of additional workloads, with limited increases in headcount.
IT organizations have turned to automation to address the needs of operations teams. Whether as a distinct part of the AIOps solution or as a hand-off from AIOps, the ability to remediate problems discovered by the power of AI/ML emphasizes the ability of AIOps to do more without the need for additional staff.
The GigaOm Key Criteria and Radar reports provide an overview of the AIOps market, identify capabilities (table stakes, key criteria, and emerging technology) and evaluation metrics for selecting an AIOps platform, and detail vendors and products that excel. These reports will give prospective buyers an overview of the top vendors in this sector and will help decision makers evaluate solutions and decide where to invest.
